How can I keep my firerefox internet browser from shutting off?
salt asked:
If I leave idle, shut down in about a minute. Scan for virus with zone alarm. I am writing I have XP sp2. I have cable internet connection from Comcast. ¿Anyone knows to fix this?

Hmmm well the best solution to your problem is to uninstall Firefox and then install it again or just look for a newer version of it. Cause I have it too but it has never shut off on me before.

Zone Alarm interface is easy to use so is the software but the anti-virus feature is no way up-to the mark.
Use some other anti-virus side-by side if you want like AVG.
Use Spybot-Search & Destroy o scan for spyware.
I used AVG & Zone Alarm Security Suite at the same time, later I switched to Kaspersky.

If Firefox keeps closing then it could be one of the add-ons that you have installed within Firefox that is actually causing you problems.
To confirm this simply run Firefox in safe mode.
In START > RUN type:
firefox -safe-mode
This will start Firefox with all extensions/add-ons disabled.
If Firefox behaves while running in this mode, you will have to run Firefox as normal, uninstall an add-on and re-run Firefox as normal. If the problem persists, remove another add-on and so on. Keep doing this until the problem goes away.
The last add-on you remove prior to Firefox working fine was the culprit.
