How can I stop zone alarm from blocking mIRC?

Apparently ZA has a habit of block IRC (or so i’ve read). Here’s the solution I found:
Open zonealarm and click IM security select settings from the top and click advanced. If the block irc is checked then uncheck it and that should fix it.
